About the Program
Since the launch of ChatGPT in November 2022, the rapid development and adoption of generative AI have transformed legal practice, presenting both opportunities and challenges. This session will focus on the ethical considerations and professional rules of conduct for lawyers engaging with generative AI. We’ll explore the basics of the technology and terminology while addressing critical ethical concerns such as client confidentiality, data privacy, bias, accountability, and the duty of competence. Attendees will leave with a foundational understanding of generative AI and its ethical implications, empowering them to navigate the complexities of using these tools in legal practice responsibly.
