The US Supreme Court’s decision to overrule Roe v. Wade has many questioning whether the new Roberts Court approaches stare decisis in a fundamentally different way than its predecessors. In the last five years alone, the Court has overruled major precedents and upended long-standing law, running the gamut from Second Amendment rights to religious exercise.
